Carlos Moore (born 4 November 1942) is a writer, social scientist, and activist, dedicated to African and Afroamerican history and culture. Holding two doctorates in Human Sciences and Ethnology from the University of Paris. He has lived for various periods in France, Africa, the US, and the Caribbean.

Moore is widely recognized for his outspoken rhetoric against racism and defending pan-Africanism and for writing the authorized biography of the Nigerian singer, saxophonist and activist Fela Kuti titled Fela: This Bitch of a Life which inspired a stage musical.
