When their mother dies, three estranged siblings—Beth, Nicole, and Michael—return to their rural Wisconsin childhood home to settle her affairs. While sorting through old belongings, they discover a VHS tape from 1999 that shatters everything they thought they knew. On screen is their father, drenched in blood next to a dead body, and their mother agreeing to help dispose of it—an event none of them remember.

Determined to uncover the truth, the siblings unexpectedly become amateur detectives, retracing childhood memories, reinvestigating a long-cold neighborhood disappearance, and digging into their family’s dark past—all while facing simmering resentments and emotional scars.
