Intermezzo

Description

Peter, a successful Dublin lawyer in his thirties, appears to have his life together. But beneath the surface, he is struggling to cope with the death of his father while navigating complicated relationships with two women: Sylvia, a woman from his past, and Naomi, a younger woman whose presence challenges the life he thought he understood.

His younger brother Ivan is a quiet and highly talented competitive chess player. At twenty-two, he has always found it difficult to connect with other people. When he meets Margaret, an older woman carrying difficulties of her own, an unexpected relationship begins to develop. As the brothers separately navigate grief, love, desire, family expectations, and uncertainty, their lives gradually begin to intersect in ways that force them to reconsider their relationship with each other and the people around them.
