Description

Maame by Jessica George follows Maddie Wright, a 25‑year‑old British‑Ghanaian woman balancing work, family caregiving (her father has Parkinson’s), and cultural expectations. When her mother returns from Ghana, Maddie takes her chance at independence—new flatmates, dating, bigger dreams—but tragedy forces her to decide how much of herself she’s willing to lose trying to be who others expect.
