Description

Based in a small seaside town in Chiba, Japan, The Chibineko Kitchen tells the story of a mystical restaurant that offers kagezen—remembrance meals allowing customers to reunite briefly with departed loved ones as long as the food remains warm. Kotoko, grieving her brother’s death, follows a path of white seashells to the restaurant, where chef Kai serves her the exact meal her brother once made. Glimpsing him once more sets Kotoko on a journey toward healing and closure. A resident kitten named Chibi quietly watches over the diners, weaving comfort into the story.
