Description

The Dark Forest picks up after the events of The Three-Body Problem, with humanity now fully aware that an alien civilization—the Trisolarans—is on its way to Earth, arriving in four centuries. Earth is thrown into chaos as nations scramble to prepare for an invasion against an enemy that already spies on them through quantum-level surveillance (the sophon).

To fight back, Earth launches the Wallfacer Project, selecting four individuals given unlimited resources and secrecy to devise defenses without being understood—even by their allies. One of them, the unassuming and mysterious Luo Ji, becomes central to humanity’s survival.

The novel introduces the chilling Dark Forest theory—a terrifying vision of the universe where all civilizations hide in fear, knowing that visibility invites annihilation.
