Description

Jollof Rice and Other Revolutions follows four Nigerian girls — Nonso, Remi, Aisha, and Solape — who form a strong bond while attending an elite all-girls boarding school in Nigeria during the 1980s. Their friendship is sealed by a rebellious protest against the school’s principal, a moment whose consequences will echo throughout their lives.

As the years pass, the women’s lives diverge: some move abroad, others stay in Nigeria; they become professionals, mothers, wives, grappling with guilt, belonging, identity, and grief. Their choices and the fallout from the school rebellion shape their relationships and sense of self.
