Description

Ove is a 59-year-old widower who lives a rigid, ordered life. Filled with routines and rules, he’s often grumpy and seems like the “bitter neighbor from hell.”

When a young, noisy couple and their children move in next door—accidentally flattening Ove’s mailbox with their U-Haul—his life begins to shift. Despite his resistance, Ove finds himself drawn into unexpected friendships, community ties, and small acts of kindness that challenge his strict ways and help him reconnect with life.

Through flashbacks, we learn about Ove’s past—his deep love for his late wife, his frustrations, losses, and the things that hardened his heart. These memories show why he is the way he is, and they make his journey toward opening up all the more moving.
